Fault Tolerance
نویسنده
چکیده
Permanent faults : This type of failure is persistent: it continues to exist until the faulty component is repaired or replaced. Examples of this fault are disk head crashes, software bugs, and burnt-out power supplies. Any of these faults may be either a fail-silent failure (also known as a fail-stop) or a Byzantine failure. A fail-silent fault is one where the faulty unit stops functioning and produces no bad output. More precisely, it either produces no output or produces output that clearly indicates that the component has failed. A Byzantine fault is one where the faulty unit continues to run but produces incorrect results. Dealing with Byzantine faults is obviously more troublesome. [The term Byzantine fault is inspired by the Byzantine Generals Problem]

Quantum dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is one of the important nano-level technologies for implementation of both combinational and sequential systems. QCA have the potential to achieve low power dissipation and operate high speed at THZ frequencies. However large probability of occurrence fabrication defects in QCA, is a fundamental challenge to use this emerging technology. Because of these vari...

متن کاملAn approach to fault detection and correction in design of systems using of Turbo codes
We present an approach to design of fault tolerant computing systems. In this paper, a technique is employed that enable the combination of several codes, in order to obtain flexibility in the design of error correcting codes. Code combining techniques are very effective, which one of these codes are turbo codes. The Algorithm-based fault tolerance techniques that to detect errors rely on the c...

By increasing, the complexity of chips and the need to integrating more components into a chip has made network –on- chip known as an important infrastructure for network communications on the system, and is a good alternative to traditional ways and using the bus. By increasing the density of chips, the possibility of failure in the chip network increases and providing correction and fault tol...
متن کاملFDMG: Fault detection method by using genetic algorithm in clustered wireless sensor networks
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of a large number of sensor nodes which are capable of sensing different environmental phenomena and sending the collected data to the base station or Sink. Since sensor nodes are made of cheap components and are deployed in remote and uncontrolled environments, they are prone to failure; thus, maintaining a network with its proper functions even when und...
